How to Justify My Impulsive Purchase? :D

It took me no more than one second to make the purchase decision:  I want this sandal!

Well, it was literally impulsive shopping, because I went to the mall for a movie, not for shopping.  But, impulsive shopping is kind of like falling in love at first sight, when you see it, you know for sure that’s what you want, without any reason.

It is often said that female have a higher tendency to impulsive purchase than male, I’m not quite sure about that theory, but I’m certain I can come up some very good excuses to justify this impulsive purchase.  :P

Last weekend, it was a hot toasty day, with the high exceeding 90 °F (more than 32 °C), we went out for an Art Festival held in downtown Tempe.  I’m not quite an art person per se, but actually enjoyed the event much more than I expected.

When we were heading down toward the heart of downtown Tempe, there we saw the Gordon Biersch located in a two-story New Orleans style building.  Later on that day, we enjoyed our afternoon meal there on the semicircular balcony.

At the main intersection, there was this girl walking on stilts with her bird (I guess was a phoenix) entertaining people. But when she suddenly attacked me with the bird’s bamboo-made beak, I was really freaked out…lol

I like this booth, selling a lot of cute artwork made by iron and bronze, my favorite is the little samurai guy…

Actually where the festival was held is walking distance to many major sites, including Sun Devil Stadium, Arizona State University (ASU), and Tempe City Hall…

Sun Devil Stadium down the street

Tempe City Hall

On the hill behind the city hall, there is a big yellow “A”…

Maybe because of the whole art atmosphere, I started to think this weird tree was kind of artistic as well…lol

It was getting hotter and hotter, so we went inside this building for a rest… on the second floor, there is a sports bar… standing at the stairwell, it almost felt like an oasis…

There are also many musicians playing live music.  There was a Native American guy playing flute, truly touching… I ended up buying one of his CD… that was indeed impulsive shopping...

A lot of funny signs… my favorite one is the one on top right saying:

“Trespassers will be shot.  Survivors will be shot again!”  No mercy at all…lol

There is a store selling tin boxes with nostalgic Chinese paintings and funny phrases…

If you don’t want to be surrounded by the seven seemingly innocent dwarfs, make sure you have enough supply…haha

Having beer at Gordon Biersch’s balcony… they are known for their home brewed beer… if you don’t know which beer you wanna choose, you can try their sampler…

After being brain-washed by the Art Festival for an entire day and with a little bit kick of the beer, it was no surprise that I was drawn to this pair of sophisticated sandals. ;)

In fact, it’s not just sandal, it was a piece of artwork that I bought as a souvenir for the memory of that special art-eventful day.  I actually really like the simple design and black/white color tone.

How was my excuse?  Does it sound pretty decent to you?  :P

@Bunny boy:  So far, I haven’t posted a single picture of my face anywhere online…you’ll have to come up a very good excuse to persuade me to do so  ;)

I only show my face when I meet people in person, so CD will be the first one get to know how I look like.  But if you’re patient enough, you may get to see my face for real pretty soon.  :)
