Hi! I'm the person who made the map above. It's as updated/accurate as the Shanghai Transportation Authority's official bus routes on the site

were on 04-Sep-2008 because the routes were machine translated on that date. If you find anything that needs correcting, please e-mail me, msittig@gmail.com! Thanks! Also, you can also look up and print out individual bus routes at the following URL:

Very helpful stuff, should hook up with 3D designers and make a complicated Shanghai street map like one that I know of in Chinese out there. I know there is an english street map but its still missing out many small / other roads so I still can't trust it. With so many foriegners and the fact the city wants to be more 'international' it puzzles me that they have no concrete street map in english while other cities like HK, Singapore have online maps in more than 4 languages!
